31st international exhibition of organic and natural products
The organic agrofood sector continues to show vast potential extending beyond national borders: the results of Sana Observatory 2015, the survey conducted by Nomisma for the fourth year running, indicate a strong growth in organic exports.
The SANA-Nomisma Observatory involved a sample of 150 businesses with a certified organic agrofood turnover of 1 billion Euro: 2014 sales of internationally certified organic agrofood products amounted to 1.4 billion Euro. Organic businesses show a strong propensity for agrofood export with 24% of turnover in produce destined for international markets (against 18% recorded by Italian agrofood businesses as a whole). The hallmark of organic businesses is also their capacity to penetrate international markets: 80% of businesses sold produce abroad in 2014.
The Sana Observatory and Italian Foreign Trade Office (ICE) survey will be presented to operators and the media at a meeting to be held on 12th September during the 2015 edition of SANA, together with SINAB data on land cultivated with organic methods and ISMEA figures on consumer purchasing of organic products in the modern trade supply chain.ALL NEWS
