According to a survey by Italy’s leading farmers’ organization Coldiretti, medicinal plants ranging from lavender to aromatic herbs are found all over the Marche region in central Italy: 30% of Italy’s total are grown in the Marche, followed in second and third place by the Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont regions.

Sector figures are positive in general with a trend in consumer growth. From plants grown for livestock breeding and farming, there is a gradual increasing trend towards medicinal plant use in other sectors like cosmetics, wellness and diets.
