The 2nd International Conference on Organic Rice Production, organized and sponsored by Milan’s University’s Agricultural Faculty, the Inra Research Centre and the Cira Science Unit of Montpellier, will commence on 1st September at Expo’s Biodiversity Park. The meeting will continue on 2nd, 3rd and 4th September in the Lomellina region, one of Italy's major rice growing areas. Hundreds of organic farmers and sector operators from the five continents will be meeting on 1st September at Expo’s Biodiversity Park for the first day of the 2nd International Conference on Organic Rice Production. On the agenda: how to improve yields and disseminate farming practices that instead of using herbicides, take into consideration the requirements of the particular ecosystem and landscape. Speakers will include Duccio Campagnoli, BolognaFiere President, Claudia Sorlini, Chairman of the University Scientific Committee for Expo 2015, Gianni Fava, Lombardy Regional Councillor for Agriculture, Daniele Bosone, President of the Province of Pavia, Giorgio Guardamagna, President, Gal Lomellina.
