Kerbside garbage recycling increases in Italy

Environmental awareness is growing in Italy says Italy’s statistics bureau ISTAT, with Italians now recycling 52.5% of the waste they produce, a 5% growth on 2015.

Top of the class is northern Italy, with the autonomous Province of Trent recycling some 74.3% of its waste, followed by Veneto (72.9%) and Lombardy (68.1%). Bottom of the league are the southern regions of Sicily and Molise.
