Increase in organically farmed areas

SINAB confirms that areas dedicated to organic crops amount to 1,796,363 hectares, up 20.4% from 2016. Leading the way are three regions in southern Italy: Sicily (363,688 hectares), Apulia (255,853 hectares) and Calabria (204,527 hectares).

On the basis of these figures, which are also fully reflected in SANA, there is the need to respond to the demand of consumers, who are increasingly sensitive to environmental issues and healthier life choices.
