A recent episode of the EtaBeta programme on Italian national radio, Mauro Spagnuolo, director of Rinnovabili.it, a daily devoted to environmental sustainability, talked about the circular economy.

The principle behind the circular economy is that it is self-regenerating: according to Spagnuolo, products must be designed and made with the idea that at the end of their life cycle they can be recycled to reduce emissions, consumption, and landfill waste.

The European Union is also moving in this direction with the target of recycling 65% of urban waste, 75% of packaging and reducing landfill to a maximum of 10% of all waste by 2030.
