June 2022
Data from Cosmetica Italia, Sana's main partner: after an initial major growth in 2021, the sector is traveling toward full recovery. Green companies in the sector are joining in large numbers at SANA 2022.
The cosmetics sector is returning to positive signs, in some cases with growth forecasts that harken back to the extremely encouraging pre-Covid climate. This is what emerges from the latest surveys by Cosmetica Italia, the National Association of Cosmetic Companies, affiliated with Confindustria and one of the main partners of SANA.
In general, the market shows significant signs of recovery, and even better bodes well are the projections for 2022 and 2023, on which weigh the unknowns caused by the difficult international situation with the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Starting in 2021, total industry sales reached 11.8 billion euros, for a 9.9 percent growth that almost balanced the -11 percent recorded in 2020.
Turning to the scenarios, estimates assume +2.7 percent for 2022, with total sales set to reach 12.1 billion euros, and a further +3.3 percent for 2023, with the market reaching 12.5 billion euros, effectively making up for the extremely significant loss caused by Covid.
While waiting for detailed data for the green cosmetics sector, it is already possible to record the significant growth of companies in the category that have chosen to participate in SANA 2022.
