October 2024
Environmental sustainability and social responsibility are highly relevant issues, which SANA Food is committed to translating into concrete actions at all stages of the event. The implementation of these practices aims to stimulate the relevant business community to adopt the same approach.
Since 2019, SANA Food has been reducing its impact on the environment.
The event's sustainable initiatives include 100% plastic-free catering, with biodegradable tableware and disposable materials, and glass and aluminium packaging for drinks.
But that's not all: from the 2025 edition, SANA Food will completely remove carpets from the aisles between the stands. This decision is part of a wider move towards a completely 'carpet-free' event, which will simplify set-up and dismantling operations and reduce waste.
Speaking of waste, the plan to recycle 100% of the waste collected is also part of this philosophy, as was the case at the last two editions of SANA and in line with the BolognaFiere policy.
And with the same perspective, the set-ups of the SANA Food Event Areas will be certified sustainable (CO2 Neutral) and made of modular materials, designed to optimise resources and facilitate reuse and recycling practices.
In addition, SANA Food is gradually going 'paperless' with its information material: for example, the press kit has already been replaced in the 2023 edition by a functional and always up-to-date eco-card with a QR code.
In terms of mobility, SANA Food is promoting eco-friendly travel through an agreement with Italo, which will allow visitors to benefit from special 1st class fares (discount applied to the Flex fare).
Other agreements are planned, we will keep you updated!
Another highlight of SANA Food is the application of the principle of gender equity in all stages leading up to the event and during the days of the exhibition.
All these initiatives and guidelines underline the commitment of BolognaFiere and SANA Food to make the event more concretely green, under the sign of environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
